Troy Davis
Today has been difficult.
How could GA even think of such a thing? There is reasonable doubt in this case. At least the Supreme Court issued a reprieve - how often do they do that? - and it could be anywhere between 1 hr and 7 days for something to happen. No one can know.
But it's SOMETHING. They've intervened once before, but the new hearing the SC ordered he be given was a joke. The court called the new evidence "Smoke and mirrors". My ass. The world is protesting his execution. Paris, Berlin, Bremen, Iceland, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, etc. etc. etc. Troy's sister says "people are saying "I am Troy Davis" in words he can't understand." and gave an indication he feels humbled by such support. (but support isn't the right word - deep feelings, empathy, hope, etc.) He's had people from the Pope, Jimmy Carter, a former head of the FBI, etc. etc.
If they go through with this, there's blood on their hands.
Good luck, Troy. We're all with you. "We Are Troy Davis."
